What is a planetary gearbox?
A planetary gearbox represents an engineering marvel where both the input and output shafts remain perfectly aligned. This ingenious gearbox is designed to convey maximum torque within the smallest possible space, a concept known as torque density.

Ratios below 3 make the sun gear disproportionately large compared to the planet gears, while ratios above 10 cause the sun wheel to shrink, reducing torque. These ratios are generally absolute, expressed as whole numbers.
